






Dr. Gapsis obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. After graduation, he received his Masters in Environmental Science at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Gapsis also spent time in the military, from September 1968 to June 1972, where he was a Health Physicist at Air Force Logisitics Command Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He then attended medical school at Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree.
His postgraduate work includes a Fifth Pathway Internship at State University of New York at Buffalo Milliard Fillmore Hospital. He did his Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas which is also where he received his fellowship in Neurophysiology and Electrodiagnosis.
Dr. Gapsis joined Bonutti Orthopedic Clinic in 1992 where he performs such duties as: evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal trauma; treatment of non-surgical low back pain; employee and executive physics; FAA exams for class 2&3 medical certificates; and Electrodiagnostic testing (EMG).
Professional Organizations

Dr. Gapsis is licensed to practice in the state of Texas, as well as the state of Illinois. He has been an FAA Designated Medical Examiner for the Great Lake Region since January 1998, and is affiliated with St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
