I want to thank you for all that you did for me. You called the hospital, yourself, so that I could have the surgery before the end of the year. You found out my insurance costs would be increasing at the first of January. Here are the series of events:
December 17: Total knee replacements on BOTH knees.
December 20: Released to go home.
January 5: Went back to work. I walked every hour, knees iced periodically.
January 8: Was released to drive.
It’s been uphill ever since ….
I kept putting off the knee surgery because everyone told me it was too painful to go through. Until the surgery, I was in terrible pain, for 2 years, and it started getting worse. After dealing with so much pain, I decided to have them both done at once, since they both needed it. I didn’t want to have the option of backing out if the first one was too painful for me. Having my knee replacements was the best decision I ever made. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE INTENSE PAIN AFTER SURGERY!!! It’s been a piece of cake. No comparison to the pain I was dealing with before the surgery. I made sure that I went through the 10 therapy sessions scheduled and done my own therapy at home as well. My therapist said that I was every therapists dream. I felt that I wasn’t about to let all this be in vain. I ride a stationary bike every evening and use my palate machine to stretch at least 3 times a week. I can actually walk out in our plant without the concrete hurting my knees…at all. I am 57 years old and can finally do something active.
I am sending the final payment and it was worth every penny. I should say “you were worth every penny.”
Thank you for your skills as a doctor and showing compassion to me as a patient.

A few years ago, (4 I think), you replaced both of my knees. I am writing this note to thank you from the bottom of my heart! I had struggled with my knees for many years and was in pretty bad shape when I came to you. My replacements have been great from day ONE and are still going strong and easy. Your technique is excellent and you did a great job. An older lady who serves on a bank board with me (she has had knee and / or hip replacements in Indy) says that I got along with my replacements so well that I should be the “poster child” for knee replacements.
In any case, I am eternally grateful for what you have done for me. Thank you and pass my thanks on to your assistant, Allyson Gough. Her dad and I grew up together in Kansas, IL.
God bless you, your family, and your clinic. Call me if you ever need someone to “testify”.

Dr. Peter Bonutti -
How well we remember the seventeenth of July 1989, - The first time we met you. My husband was injured in the grain bin and was given excellent care for sometime, now at eighty-four, never having had a bit of trouble as a result of the injury. Able to golf! We saw the write up in Sunday’s Decatur paper on your twenty year anniversary celebration and wanted to wish you and your family all the best, with many more good years. This old age ain’t for wimps!

Just to let you know we all have so many things to be thankful for, but top of my list for ’09 was being thankful to dear friends that told me to see you about my knee! Then to you for doing my knee surgery. I feel 20 years younger now and I have no pain.

To Whom It May Concern:
On February 26th we were treated at this clinic for a foot which was extremely painful (diagnosis of inflamed tendon). We were treated with much care - everyone we were in contact with was friendly and caring. I would recommend this clinic in the future - Thanks to all of you!

I am writing to thank you for yet another successful surgery. Last February you operated on my left knee inserting a partial knee implant. Since then I have gone through ten weeks of rehabilitation at the Viroqua Memorial Hospital and continue to work out at the hospital three times a week for an hour in the morning. As you indicated to me earlier, the knee has continued to get stronger each month, and I can now report that I have met the goal that I set for myself. I am once again skiing downhill on a regular basis and find that I can handle the black runs on the slopes as well as I ever could. I should also add that I have been hunting pheasants and training bird dogs since early September. Thanks to you, I think that I am doing pretty well for an old fossil who will be 73 in April.
Thanks again and don’t retire before I come in for another implant. I hope to be able to hold off on that until I am approximately 80.

Thank you so much for your fantastic services, kindness, and patience. My knee has healed wonderfully and I have even begun to run again! I will be sure to recommend everyone I know to your clinic.
Thanks again.
